Sarah Calnan, DO

Welcome to Quiet Corner Psychiatry, PLLC. I’m Sarah Calnan, DO, an integrative psychiatrist who believes in compassionate, collaborative, and personalized care. My treatment philosophy centers around getting to know each patient, listening to their unique story, and offering holistic and personalized care. I am committed to never giving up on patients and firmly believe in the possibility of recovery, regardless of trauma.

My journey to integrative psychiatry began during my Master’s of Public Health program, which led me to Osteopathic medical school and the principles of wellness and a whole-person approach. During medical school and after witnessing the limitations of conventional care, I developed a passion for psychiatry. It became my calling due to the power of stories - the privilege of listening to patients and walking alongside them on their journey to recovery. Addiction medicine, in particular, captured my heart, as I witnessed the transformative power of redemption, grace, and restoration in recovery.

My unique perspective, shaped by personal experiences such as growing up in a family offering foster care to youth in the system and engaging in medical missions, has fueled my dedication to providing inclusive and affirming care. It has also given me firsthand insights into the impact of trauma, especially in formative years.

Over the years, my career has taken me through diverse settings, including inpatient, residential, detox/rehab, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient care. Within these settings, I’ve been involved in addiction treatment programs and the creation of innovative initiatives, such as a methadone clinic and urgent care for addiction. With over four years of experience as a medical director in various settings, I bring a wealth of expertise to my practice.

Today, as the founder of Quiet Corner Psychiatry, I blend traditional psychiatry with evidence-based integrative modalities, creating a therapeutic space where individuals can embark on a journey of holistic healing. My goal is to guide you towards transformative well-being, combining medication management, psychotherapy, supplementation, and lifestyle coaching for a balanced and fulfilling life.
